Chando is a resident of New York City. Chando was a student at Manhattan College before becoming an actor. Chando was the lead character Maddie Coleman on the television soap show As the World turns, which she was on from 2005 until 2007 before returning for another few months, beginning in the latter part of 2009. Alexandra began her professional career acting on the TV series House Blend where she portrayed Jenna Harper. As the World Turns on CBS was her first television performance following three years. Chando was also cast in the lead actress in a documentary TV series in America, True life, and was also in Sherri. She appeared in two episodes Glory Daze (an American comedy-drama series) in the role of Annabelle. Also, she was in Castle, Hindsight and Dead People.
