Lita Rossana Ford is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist hailing from Britain. She played the guitar of the all-girl group The Runaways in the 1970s. Their punk rock sound and raunchy songs helped them gain recognition within the rock world. The Runaways did not prove to be particularly successful within The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. Ford began to take voice classes and soon released her first album 'Dancin' at the Edge'. Ford did not achieve any success with either album and she left the scene for a decade. The singer returned with her success album, 'Lita' it was released in the year 1988. Both the song "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. However, the success of her music was short-lived after which she was absent from the industry for several years. The year 1995 saw her release 'Black,' and 15 years later she released 'Wicked' Wonderland. Her latest album was released in 2016 called 'Time Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
